Pixel Perfect Before/After
Here is the before. A nice enough shot of my kids, but kind of blah.
After: In PSE 6, I used MCP actions vivid color finder brush (love this!) and popped the background a bit. Then I used a warming action followed by a little bit of softening. I added a plain WM and that's it.

Nice fall tones. I have 2 girls then a boy too. But I am guessing my boy was a newborn when they were your girls ages. He was a welcome surprise!
